The remainder of the waste is converted to SRF (Sustainable Resource Fuel), a high-value product that reduces the dependency on fossil fuels and assists in lowering carbon footprint.

The acquisition was subject to clearance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), who, following a detailed examination and taking into account a series of legally binding commitments from the parties, has found that the proposed acquisition will not result in a substantial lessening of competition in the State.
After a fire destroyed their largest processing waste recycling plant, Thorntons Recycling went to tender for a solution to support their operations and increase efficiencies. They partnered with Turmec, who designed and installed the new state-of-the-art facility within nine months of order.
